The idea of perfumer Pierre-Costantin Guéros nose was to recreate the aroma of a delicious dish of popular Milanese cuisine: rice and milk. This did not result in a gourmand fragrance, however, because The Paintings of Palazzo Reale belongs to the woody and spicy family with a milky base note. The olfactory score opens with notes of Dates and Plums and a spicy hint of Timut Pepper Oil. The heart of the fragrance begins with Gurjun balsamic oil (a resin exuded from the trunk of an Asian plant) and ends with honey essential oil, cardamom oil, and almond milk. The olfactory finish comes from a relentless alternation between olibanum oil and patchouli oil, and between Bourbon vanilla and Ambrostar under the sumptuous and persistent power of Oud.
